Gear VR is available on Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, and Samsung.com and will ship on November 20th.

The new Gear VR is 19% lighter than the previous Innovator Edition and features improved ergonomics plus a completely redesigned touchpad for easier navigation. Gear VR is also compatible with even more Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, S6, and S6 edge.

Dozens of new made-for-VR games are coming soon to Gear VR and at launch, you’ll be able to watch thousands of immersive videos and films. Get ready.

Also starting today, several developers are releasing brand new made-for-VR games on Gear VR. Games like Land’s End by Ustwo Games, Bandit Six: Salvo by Climax Studios, and Dead Secret by Robot Invader are now available in the Oculus Store. And many more titles like Gunjack by CCP and Anshar Wars 2 by OZWE are coming soon! Here’s a look at a few of the games coming to Gear VR:

 

Oculus Arcade now available

We’re also excited to announce that Oculus Arcade is now available! In a throwback to old-school gaming, you can now play more than 20 classic games like Pac-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Gauntlet in a virtual arcade.

Now live in Oculus Video: Twitch, Vimeo, & 70+ Movies

Gear VR customers can watch the entire Netflix catalog of original series, documentaries, and films as well as explore Oculus Video, which hosts more than 70 feature-length films from 20th Century Fox and Lionsgate.

Now with Oculus Video, you can access 9,000 videos from Vimeo or catch your favorite live broadcasts on Twitch.

Explore the world with Oculus 360 Photos

In addition to the great games and videos on Gear VR, you can also experience Oculus 360 Photos. We’ve added more than 200,000 immersive photos that let you explore your surroundings in 360 degrees and step into breathtaking scenes captured by some of the world’s leading photographers.

The best photography has always been a kind of open doorway to the world. With 360 Photos, you can step through that doorway and take a look around.

Experience VR with friends in Oculus Social 

With Oculus Social, you can hang out with your friends in a virtual space. Just select an avatar, find your friends, and watch videos together from anywhere in the world.
